Client Feedback
Rashidah Hamzah

My father was retiring after 35 years with three different employers, and his papers were genuinely everywhere. Kestrel Ledger came to the house, spent the morning going through everything, and by lunchtime we had a properly labelled folder and a clear list of what we still needed to track down. The coordinator was patient and explained what each document was for without making us feel like we should have already known.

I used the Paperwork Preparation Support after my EPF withdrawal application was returned for incomplete documentation twice. Working through the forms with someone who knew the structure made a real difference — the submission went through without a query. I would have preferred slightly shorter gaps between appointments, but that is a minor point.

What I appreciated most was that they were very clear from the beginning about what the service covers. There was no confusion about whether I was getting advice on my entitlements — I wasn't, and they said so plainly. What I did get was a well-organised file that I could finally take to the EPF counter without feeling unprepared. Worth every ringgit.

I attended the workshop series arranged by my employer. The sessions were measured in pace and genuinely informative — I came away knowing what records I should be keeping and how to find documents I thought were lost. The printed glossary has already come in handy twice. Good use of a Saturday morning.

I had a lot of hesitation before contacting them because I wasn't sure whether I needed a lawyer or an accountant. The initial call clarified things quickly — this is an administrative service for organising your papers, not for advising on money or rights. Once that was clear, the whole process felt comfortable and practical. My folder is now something I can actually use.

I arranged this for my mother who is 61 and was finding the paperwork side of retirement preparation overwhelming. The coordinator conducted the session at our home, which made a big difference. My mother said it was the first time the whole thing felt manageable. The folder we have now is clear and well-labelled, and the list of missing papers told us exactly what we still needed to chase.

Case Summaries
Multi-Employer Records for a 38-Year Career
Challenge
A client retiring from their fourth employer in 38 years had documents spread across five folders, two cardboard boxes, and a filing cabinet from a 1990s employer. Contribution records from two employers had been misplaced during a house move.
What We Did
A three-hour Organisation Session at the client's home. All documents were retrieved, sorted chronologically by employer period, and catalogued. The two missing contribution records were identified by date range so the client could contact the relevant employer and EPF directly.
Outcome
One indexed file covering 38 years of employment history, a digital folder with 47 scanned documents, and a written list of two outstanding records with the contact information needed to obtain them.
"The folder we ended up with is the kind of thing I should have had years ago."
Submission Support After Two Returned Applications
Challenge
A client had submitted a retirement-related application twice and received it back on both occasions with requests for additional or corrected documents. The form instructions were unclear and the client was uncertain which copies of which documents were required.
What We Did
Four appointments over five weeks. We worked through the official guidance together, completed the forms field by field, assembled the supporting documents in the exact order specified by the receiving office, prepared certified copies, and maintained a tracking sheet throughout.
Outcome
Submission accepted without further queries. The tracking sheet showed all required documents submitted on a single date, with a confirmation reference number recorded.
"After two returns I was ready to give up. Having someone who knew the form structure made the process much less stressful."
Workshop Series for a Logistics Company HR Team
Challenge
An HR manager at a logistics company with 180 staff found that employees were frequently unprepared when retirement approached — arriving at the submission stage without organised records and uncertain about what documents they needed. The team wanted a structured way to address this early.
What We Did
Six two-hour sessions delivered in two separate groups of 21 and 18 participants, in person at their Shah Alam office. Sessions covered how Malaysian retirement records are structured, document categories, how to keep files orderly over a working life, and where official information is published.
Outcome
39 participants across both groups, each receiving a printed workbook, glossary, and document checklist pack. Recorded summary session distributed to 12 employees who could not attend in person.
"The sessions were practical and delivered without unnecessary complexity. Our staff left with tools they can use immediately."
